P – PREPARE: Plan Your Presence

Before you post on LinkedIn, take time to plan. Consider your intention, target audience, and alignment with your company’s values.

Do:

  • Define your content pillars (e.g., leadership, innovation, DEI, wellness).

  • Create a calendar of meaningful events or insights you can share.

  • Draft posts with clear structure: introduction → insight → call to action.

  • Use authentic, first-person voice to connect with your network.

Don’t:

  • Post without clarity or purpose.

  • Follow trends blindly without aligning to your role or goals.

  • Ignore your employer’s branding and communication guidelines.

R – RESPECT: Uphold Digital Etiquette

Respect is at the core of digital professionalism. Respect your organization, audience, colleagues, and your own brand.

Do:

  • Tag people and organizations with relevance and permission.

  • Acknowledge team efforts and collective achievements.

  • Credit authors, sources, and co-creators where due.

  • Be inclusive and mindful of language and tone.

Don’t:

  • Share confidential or internal information.

  • Use inappropriate humor, sarcasm, or overly casual language.

  • Complain or criticize individuals, companies, or industries.

I – IMPLEMENT: Craft Thoughtful, Value-Based Posts

This is where your intent becomes action. Craft posts that inform, engage, and elevate conversations in your domain.

Do:

  • Share learnings from failures and successes.

  • Talk about your work culture, achievements, and leadership lessons.

  • Add visuals, infographics, or document uploads.

  • Use 3–5 relevant hashtags (e.g., #LeadershipDevelopment, #HRTrends).

Don’t:

  • Overuse hashtags or emojis.

  • Make posts only about self-promotion.

  • Copy-paste from others without attribution.

S – SHARE: Build Your Community with Care

Sharing goes beyond content — it’s about engaging meaningfully with your network and amplifying voices.

Do:

  • Comment thoughtfully on others’ posts.

  • Repost relevant company updates with your personal perspective.

  • Encourage others in your organization to engage.

  • Celebrate diversity, inclusion, and social impact.

Don’t:

  • Ignore your connections’ engagement.

  • Spam comment sections or over-tag.

  • Overpost in a single day — less is often more.

M – MAINTAIN: Evolve and Reflect

Digital presence isn’t a one-time task; it’s a journey. Keep your profile and contributions dynamic, relevant, and aligned with your evolving role.

Do:

  • Audit your LinkedIn presence quarterly.

  • Keep your bio, title, and banner image updated.

  • Revisit your voice and tone as your career progresses.

  • Learn from analytics (likes, comments, reach) to refine your approach.

Don’t:

  • Let your profile become stagnant.

  • Forget to respond to messages or opportunities.

  • Deviate from your authentic self or role-based persona.

The best LinkedIn profiles aren’t the loudest — they’re the most consistent, credible, and conscious.By following the PRISM™ approach, you’ll not only protect your professional integrity but also influence and inspire others in your network.

PRISM = Prepare. Respect. Implement. Share. Maintain.Let your digital presence reflect the leader you truly are.
